Went to the event last Sunday with the Boyfriend.It was a nice afternoon in the park. the weather was not too bad just a tad balmy.

Bark in the Park was a blast! Patrick of Waggie's Pet care was there. There were many fun competitions to take part in. There was a sit stay contest but after seeing who were the other contestants.. we didnt take part.. sure to lose! They were all students of Patrick! haha.. tho I am proud of my Happy, I know he cannot beat them one la.. give him more time ok? next year we will beat all of them paws down! =)

Happy's Girlfriend

This is Happy's new girlfriend Toto. She's a shy little one. 5 months old Japanese Spitz.

Happy meets her every evening when he goes for his usual walk. She lives in the same block and is always wearing a pretty little pink top or dress.. so cute yah? Next time I will upload a video of them playing together..

Sit stay exercise

I'm so proud of my boy Happy! He is doing amazingly well in Waggie's Obedience training course! So much improvement since the 1st day we got him. We're now halfway through the course and so far we have learned the heel command, sit and down command and most importantly the automatic sit whenever we stop. Now we are mastering the sit stay exercise. I must say Happy is a very smart little doggie! The weekly training sessions calls for being able to sit and stay for 4-5 seconds from Day 1-3 and then gradually increasing the stay time to 1 minute as the week progresses. Happy can do the sit stay for 1 minute on the first day! AMAZING or what? =)

KO-ed in his strawberry bed! So tired ah? hehe..
We went to visit the girls at Pet Lover's Centre Pick-a-pet in the evening and just got back from there. Had brought Happy back there to see them. Happy was so happy to see them and also the 2 resident chihuahuas there.. He had a blast playing with them thats why he's zonked out at the moment..

The Hamsters: Cutecute and Wuming

This was taken last night at the boyfriend's place.

My Boyfriend has 2 hamsters: Cutecute(female in the pink cage) and Wuming(male in the blue cage). Happy is always ever so curious about them. Always poking his head into Cutecute's cage to watch her run around and sniffint Wuming out. Cutecute is the daring one. Never afraid of Happy!

Poor Happy in the corner

So sad.. Happy had to be locked in the corner as punishment for making a big boo boo at my boyfriend's place.. He did a pee pee on the floor where he wasn't supposed to.. taught him a little lesson by spanking his butt n tying him up at the balcony for a few minutes..

He must be so traumatised by the incident that he never dares to step into the balcony by himself anymore.. =P anyway, he doesnt pee pee or poo poo at home anymore.. does most of his business outdoors on the grass..

dont worry fellow SGporeans!! I am a responsible dog owner! always picks his poo poo up n throws them away in the big green dustbin..

IKEA outing

Snuck Happy into Ikea the other day.. wasn't discovered by the security guard until at the end when I was going to leave after paying at the cashier.. =)
It was quite fun walking around with my little doggie hiding in my bag..
not many people noticed.. except for 2 angmoh boys who came up to me asking if they could give Happy a pat.. they said they have 3 dogs at home! (wonder when will I get another 1 or 2 more Papillons to keep Happy company)..

Went for a kopi session at 501 with Best Friend Cynthia.. to show her my little doggie..
He will sit quietly on the chair next to you watching the surroundings.. many people love to come up to him n give him a little pat on his head and say : "Oh... so cute!"

Introducing Happy the Papillon

Hello everyone!

I just got myself a dog! Had been wanting to have a little doggie of my own for AGES! and since now I am earning my own keep, I decided to get a dog! Faced quite abit of resistance from my parents.. but I managed to over come them.. (basically brought Happy home in the middle of the night when they were sleeping.. AND risking the wrath of my mom and dad..)

ANYWAY!!

He is a black and white Papillon I got at Pet Lovers Centre (Holland Village) on Easter weekend 2009.

So he's been living happily with me for about one and a half months now. In the initial periods, he fell sick twice and I was so worried for him! He had the runs, was vomitting and even had a burning fever.. Had to take him to the vet for injections to bring his fever down.. my poor doggie.. He's fine now.. =)

He's such a sweet little thing.. eager to please and oh so smart! Learns new tricks pretty fast too..

Happy is also going through Waggie School basic obedience training.. and I must say its working wonders! I am so proud of him whenever we go for walks! He can sit by me when other dogs are around and not bark! =)

Yup.. I know his markings are not of a standard Papillon but who cares??

PS: My dearest boyfriend was the one who chose this breed.. initially I wanted a chihuahua or a king charles cavalier spaniel.. but we kind of stumbled on this Papillon breed (known for its intelligence and unique butterfly ears).. when we read up more about the breed, we decided that this was the one for us!

PPS: Went shopping with the boyfriend one weekend.. The first 2 shops in Pasir Ris had a few Papillons, the conditions they were kept in really turned me off (felt quite disappointed and sad actually)..The price listed for their sale was really unexpectedly cheap but still I did not want to get my doggie from them..
We then went to Holland V's PetLovers as I had called them earlier.. I was told on the phone that the doggie they had on hand was a black n white 7month old male.. in my mind I was thinking: "hmm.. black n white isnt too special and why 7months old already? nobody wants him? maybe just go take a look. and see how it goes.. we can still check other shops out next week."
BUT! the moment I saw Happy.. I knew he was the one for me!! =)
Kind of like fated as my boyfriend would say.. hehe..
Now.. as they say.. its all history!
